It was a normal day until the clock hit 6:30 In the morning. I had no idea that the next 15 hours will be the most thrilling, exciting and memorable 15 hours for me. It all started at the pune-Nashik road. After having a short breakfast, A ride to unknown started in full throttle. Very soon the rendezvous was stopped by a small mishap when our rider brother got some issues with his bike. But unlike a non rider, every person in the caravan was on his toe to help him and get the problem mitigated and within certain time, we hit the road again. Our lead rider had a different plan for the riders which proved to be fruitful and after taking a detour started the most beautiful part of the ride. Riding the corners of the lake while all you can see is the tail lamp of the rider in the front because it's fog all around. Then start some off roading, And taking a 200 kg bike at an angle of 35 degree on slippery rocks with slush was no less than a nightmare. It was successful with the help of sweep and lead rider. Just when we thought that it's done, started the most slushy and muddy patch of the road where it was difficult to say which was the road and where was the lake. Once it was done, there was an awesome tar Mac road which lead us to some equally awesome scenic views (malshej ghat). While we were enjoying the views and climate, our lead rider was looking for some more adventure and he found one. Then began a new part which can fit in a new chapter altogether. Riding through the
village where you cannot differentiate between the roads and the terrain, with slippery pebbles, sharp rocks and knee length slush. Although we returned midway due time constraint, it was nothing less than a learning experience. After a short lunch, we were on the roads again, and little to my expectations we were riding through the ghats at the speed of 80-100 kmph without breaks enjoying the greenery on either side of perfect road with rain adding to the thrill. After a stop in karjat for tea, the last part of the ride started where a completely different side of riders was seen. Riding in the pair of two with complete discipline and rules at 40-60 kmph we reached on the out skirts of pune. After a bit of chit chat on the road side, we left for home. It was not a ride, it was experience...just like the first day of school, It was memorable. The only difference was that unlike school, we didn't wanted it to end.
